Igneous rock in South West Florida?
Found this in Port Charlotte, FL
Charlotte County Websites I have no idea what this might be except that I think it must have been molten and in the air at one time. It's the only way I know of that a rock can have crystals inside a hollow smooth shell. I'm emailing my cousin Ken who is the rock expert in the family.

I found it in our backyard, which is on a canal and our house is built on a mound of sand, shell and limestone that was dredged from the canal back in the 50's I think. So this could have been from the bottom of the canal. There is also a manmade drainage ditch with an underground cement pipe which runs along the length of one side of our property. This stone was found over this pipe so it's possible it was trucked in during the construction of this drainge area. Just some thoughts.

I've been doing a little research starting from Google and I think this may be an example of Calcite.
